Church School on Sunday Mornings/files/Readings/Generations.jpg

Nursery Care (8:30, 9:45 and 11:00) - We believe that Christian Education begins in the nursery here at FPC. Therefore, we offer nursery care (Ages 0-2 years) by a licensed day care provider at 8:30 a.m. during Revelation Worship hour, at 9:45 a.m. during the Church School hour, and at 11:00 during the traditional worship hour. Let your child begin to get to know members of his/her church family while you take some time for education, fellowship, and spiritual nourishment.

/files/Readings/teddybear0618.jpgPreschool (8:30, 9:45 and 11:00) - This class is for 3- and 4-year-olds. It is an opportunity for some learning and fun. During the worship times (8:30 & 11:00) children are supervised by volunteers and paid staff who enjoy all young people.

Seasons of the Spirit (9:45 a.m.) for Grade school children. this group begins in the large room upstairs and breaks up into age-appropriate classes. Classes are taught by volunteer members of the church.

Jr/Sr. High Class. Well, class is really a loose term as it is more of an adventure! Each Sunday those who gather downstairs will travel to someone in need--in a nursing home, homebound or hospital to share a Bible lesson and pray for them. This hands-on activity puts Bible-learning into action as we care for some of our congregation members in need. This group is led by Jordan Knight, the Director of Youth and College-Aged Ministries.

Adult Sunday School (9:45) - A variety of Church School opportunities are offered for adults. Opportunities change from time to time; however here are some going on right now you can check out:

Seasons of the Spirit This class meets in the chapel of the church with Rev. David Parker leading the group. Discussions usually are centered on the lectionary text for that Sunday and look at each passage with a particular focus on the text that most comes to life for the class. It is Bible-based, God-inspired, and though-provoking!

Coffee and Newspaper Class This rowdy and relaxed bunch of adults enjoy the company of one another and a good cup of coffee. As they sip they share some newspaper headlines that they think may be interesting to discuss regarding their faith. Topics have ranged from abortion, creation vs. evolution, world-wide crisis points and the Presbyterian church in the news. This class meets in the lower level dining room and is open to all adults.

Homebuilders This new class formed around the issue of looking at raising children well and in light our living out our faith. They have used various video series and their own insights to bring light and life to other's experiences. Anyone raising kids, thinking about it, or even raising grandkids are welcome in this class that meets in the church parlor. Contact Rev. Sarah for more info.

A Closer Walk  this small group class has taken on various topics, such as forgiveness, waiting on the Lord, and other spiritual development topics. Leadership changes, but interested parties are welcome to this class that meets in the basement Blue Room (just outside the dining room).

Beginnings: A Spiritual Life is offered on Wednesday nights beginning with dinner at 5:30 p.m. This class eats, worships, watches a short video and breaks into small groups to discuss the topic for the day.  Contact Rev. David for more info.
